Local & Global Missions
Bethany is committed to serving our neighbors by supporting a wide variety of local organizations through both financial gifts and hands-on volunteer involvement. Our Local and Global Missions Team works closely with these partners to understand their unique needs and identify meaningful ways we can help. Through these relationships, we strive to offer support that is thoughtful, responsive, and rooted in Christ’s love for our community.
Bethany’s Blessing Box
Bethany’s Blessing Box, located in front of Spell Chapel, is a year-round mission of compassion—offering food to anyone in need, any time of day. Every donation placed inside is a simple yet powerful act of faith, hope, and love for a neighbor walking through a difficult season. We gladly accept both monetary and food donations. Items that are especially helpful include canned meats, pop-top canned pastas, and crackers. Donations may be placed directly in the Blessing Box or dropped off at the Business Office.
Hands of Christ School Supply Drive
Through Hands of Christ, Bethany proudly supports students in our community by making sure they have the tools they need to start the school year strong. Every backpack, notebook, and pencil we provide is more than just a school supply—it’s a symbol of hope, encouragement, and love or our children’s future. Together, we’re helping set them up for success!
Plarning (Plastic + Yarn)
Through Plarning (plastic + yarn), volunteers transform everyday grocery bags into durable sleeping mats for those experiencing homelessness. It’s a beautiful way to turn something that might be thrown away into something life-giving and filled with love. You can support this ministry by bringing your plastic grocery bags to the church anytime—every bag helps make a difference
Thanksgiving Bags
This Thanksgiving, our Thanksgiving Bag Ministry will bless over 200 local families with everything they need for a special holiday meal! Your donations help fill these bags with love and nourishment. We’re proud to partner with Hearts for Summerville to make this holiday season brighter for our community. To make a monetary donation: Please drop off your payment at the Business Office and be sure to notate it for “Thanksgiving Bags.”
Angel Tree
As the Christmas season draws near, our Angel Tree ministry offers a beautiful way to bring hope and happiness to children and families who might otherwise go without gifts. Each angel on the tree represents a precious life touched by your generosity—a powerful reminder that we are called to be Christ’s hands and heart in our community.
Summerville Salkehatchie
Summerville Salkehatchie is a vital mission of Bethany, offering hands-on opportunities to live out Christ’s call to love our neighbors. Each summer, teen campers serve repairing homes for families in need right here in our community. Through construction work, shared meals, worship, and relationship-building, Summerville Salkehatchie creates a space where faith is put into action. You can help by providing meals, donating job site supplies, serving on job sites and more.
