WELCOME TO BETHANY
We hope you’ll feel welcome here! We support and live by the United Methodist Church’s philosophy that UMC churches should have “Open Hearts, Open Minds, and Open Doors.”
Worship With Us
Regardless of where you are in your spiritual path—whether you are starting out or seeking a deeper connection—at Bethany, you will discover a community where you can feel connected and accepted, a space to nurture your faith, and an opportunity to have a positive impact. Life is a journey, and together we will navigate the path. We welcome you to join us.
Our Beliefs
Jesus Was The Son of God
We believe that Jesus was the Son of God, the child of the virgin Mary and the Holy Spirit, truly God and truly Man, who for us and for our salvation came down from heaven. He is eternal Savior and Mediator, who intercedes for us and by him all persons will be judged.
Sin Separated All Persons From God
We also believe sin separated all persons from God. Jesus’ death on the cross was an atoning sacrifice, making possible our forgiveness and reconciliation with God. To repent of sin and trust in Jesus Christ are the only requirements for one to receive that forgiveness and reconciliation made possible by Jesus’ death.
God is one God in Three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit
We believe that God is one God in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit – that the Holy Spirit is of one substance with the Father and the Son. It convinces the world of sin, and leads persons to a response in faith to the gospel. The Holy Spirit is the Christian’s primary teacher, comforter and source of power.
Holy Communion
Holy Communion (or the Lord’s Supper) is a faithful remembrance of the suffering and death of Christ and a celebration of love within the Church. Those who in faith eat the broken bread and drink the blessed cup partake of the body and blood of Christ in a spiritual manner until He comes in glory. Bethany UMC believes in an open communion table – all are welcome.
Traditional Worship
Traditional Worship is held each Sunday in the Sanctuary at 8:30am. Special music, hymn singing, prayers and preaching are at the center of this traditional weekly worship experience. Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month. Children’s Church is available during the service for children in kindergarten through second grade.
Contemporary Worship (Word + Table)
Our contemporary service is Sundays at 11:00am, Word + Table is filled with singing, gospel lessons and weekly communion that is welcoming to anyone. This is a great worship service for kids, with lyrics displayed during the songs so they can easily sing along. Word + Table is a casual environment to learn Jesus’ teachings, praise and break bread with the people at Bethany.
Sunday School
Go deeper in your faith by participating in fellowship with others. Find the right classroom for you to study verses of the bible, watch Christian video series and share prayer concerns and praises with others. Sunday School classes are great ways to meet new people and create lasting friendships in Sunday School class as well as activities outside of the church.
Childcare Available
Children’s Sunday School is held each Sunday at 9:45 AM for children who are 3 years old through 5th grade. Classes are grouped by level. Greeters at our welcome desk downstairs near the elevator or at the Children’s Ministry desk upstairs, will be happy to help if you need assistance finding your Sunday School classes.
